About Ajara

Cultivating connection and transformation through psychotherapy. Where science meets storytelling.

Welcome

My name is Ajara E. Ledford, and I am honored to serve as psychotherapist, co-journeyer, and witness to the unfolding human experience.

I founded Yes & Psychotherapy with a belief that healing isn’t just clinical — it’s creative, it’s relational, and it’s deeply human.

In my work, truth often lives not in the extremes, but in the in-between — where the tension between pain and potential creates space for discovery.

For the past 15 years (and many more to come!) I have been working with individuals, couples and groups, and am still in awe of the life altering, life-saving, even generational rippling effects that sound clinical psychotherapy consistently produces.

Resonances abound.,
And where they are,
Let Us Be., Found.

Approach

There are many ways to connect with others through shared experiences. I believe these indirect ways of connecting are often overlooked and underutilized. In my practice I encourage my clients to harness our unprecedented access to international books, television shows, films, internet stories, gaming platforms, and more-  as creative ways for us to learn new ways of thinking, develop empathy, visualize different paths forward and connect with the human experiences of others and ourselves.

Why I Do This Work

There was a time when I asked:

I struggled with loneliness, shame, and the longing for connection. These questions shaped my own healing journey — one marked by disordered eating, anxiety, depression, and eventually… anger. The good kind. The kind that said:

Enough

I refused to remain isolated inside myself. I turned toward the pain — and toward others like me. Psychotherapy became the lifeline. First, as a client. Then, as a therapist. Now, as a guide
